Royal Paw Spa
Pets are as unique as people, and need to be treated as such. Each has his or her own likes and dislikes and forms of communication. I opened the Royal Paw Spa in order to provide thoughtful and individualized care to the animals in my community. Knowing your pet’s language enables me to provide a safe, soothing and joyful grooming experience.
As a toddler, my two best friends were Skipper and Bobo, a red Labrador mix and a Golden Retriever. My family always had dogs as I was growing up. Ultimately though, I fell into the animal care profession by accident. My 9lb “supposed to be foster” dog Willy showed me the beauty of a four legged soul and opened my eyes to a whole world full of pets who needed a voice and an ally.
I became involved with pet care through volunteer work with the Santa Cruz SPCA. I discovered a passion for animals and my volunteer experience transitioned into a paid position advising on and completing pet adoptions. I began working in the grooming salon of the local PetSmart as well, and found my niche as the ‘Pet Stylist with extra TLC.’ I am known for my gentle touch with geriatric dogs and my calm energy with anxious reactive dogs.
One of my favorite benefits of these parallel careers is that, as a groomer, I am able to maintain loving relationships with many of the animals I have helped be adopted into the community.
I am a member of the National Dog Groomers Association of America (NDGAA) and active in a countrywide network of animal care professionals who work together to share important tips, techniques, products and equipment to keep your pet happy, healthy, and strong.
